Catholic Youth Movement provides a service of information, advice and liaison for Catholics engaged in the Church's mission of formation and care among young people both those at school and those who have left school and are not in any form of higher education.
The movement is a facility available to the archdiocesan youth organisations in workers in the field. Styles of youth work are best devised locally to reflect the differing needs and circumstances in each area. They may be programmes of worship, formation, education, or recreation. In some areas there are schemes for school-leavers, in others for unemployed and the engaged. There are events for parents, youth leaders, priests and teachers.

The Regional Youth Council (RYC), is a structure that provides a communication link between all the youth groups of that region. In this case the RYC is made up of the Bulawayo City parishes coming together. The RYC encourages participation in events such as spiritual, apostolic and social events at Regional level in order that each parish can identify with its wider community. The RYC shall ensure the formation of young people by encouraging them to participate in Human Development Courses, retreats and any such programmes organised by the Archdiocesan Youth Office, which will provide a confidence in Youth so that they willingly become active participants in the Church and local Community in which they live .
