Kid's Dances

At the request of parents out side of the council, (surprised me that someone else was looking at this site) we are going to include the schedule of Kid's dances as part of our activities.  Since they are now posted for everyone that means you can volunteer to be a chaperone.

First the guidelines for the dances.

  • We allow children in grades 5 through 8 to attend the dances.

  • The dances start at 7:00PM and are over by 10:00PM.

  • Cost is $5.00 per person and is not negiciable.

  • We don't put up with any bad behavior from anyone.  If you act up you get to call your parents and ask them to pick you up.

  • Once you are in the build you are there to stay.  If you decide to leave don't bother coming back.  You won't be allowed back in.

  • We are not baby sitters.  When the dance is over we expect you to be there to pick up your child.

Remember these dances are for you.  If we get a lot of grief then we "WILL" cancel the dances.

With that said here is the current schedule for dances through the end of December.

*Serve New England

What is this thing called Serve New England?  This is a food purchase and distribution program that Spencer Council No. 118 has been involved with for over 16 years.  It started out as SHARE and eventually became it's own entity called Serve New England.  It is a non-profit organization that allows you to purchase quality food packages for $25.00 plus two hours of community service.  In general the amount of food you get would cost you twice the money at a local market.

For a complete description of what it is and how you can order go to their website at www.servenewengland.org or Linda Dagley-Duval at (508) 885-5687 or you could just stop down and register on the Serve Distribution days mentioned above.
