GENERAL INFORMATION

Resurrection Parish was founded in 1969. While we have geographical boundaries, the Pike Creek Valley and the area south of Kirkwood Highway along Harmony Road, many people from outside these boundaries call Resurrection home.

Communications are chiefly through our telephone calls, parish bulletin and our mailings. Please take a bulletin home with you and keep it handy for referral. Our diocesan newspaper, THE DlALOG, is mailed to all parishioners, free of charge. Its cost is covered by the diocesan assessment. If you do not receive it within two months, or receive duplicate copies, let the parish office know.

What does the parish expect of you in financial support? We have followed a thirty-year tradition of supporting the parish and its missions through annual voluntary pledging by all members. Fund-raising activities such as carnivals, bingo and card parties are not employed. The annual pledge, in weekly or monthly installments, is our only means of support. Each year there is also the Annual Catholic Appeal of the Wilmington Diocese to which all are asked to contribute.

ONE-ON-ONE
"WOUNDED HEALERS "

"Bear one another's burdens," St. Paul has told us. And there is no one who can bear another's burdens, troubles, problems and hardships as someone who has been there before you. Therefore, in the spirit of deep Christian love and courage, there are people in our parish who are "wounded healers" in the categories listed below and are willing to listen and help in the name of the Lord. If you are interested in receiving such help, please call the office (368-0146) for further information.
