Sacraments

As Catholics we follow Jesus, who is our way to God and eternal life.  Our relationship with the Lord Jesus is through the Sacraments.  Each time we receive a Sacrament we celebrate the presence of the risen Jesus in our lives.  Let us pray that we will respond to his love by loving each other.

Baptism:  In the celebration of Baptism, parents take on the responsibility of bringing up their child in the Catholic Faith.  Here at Holy Trinity Church, parents are expected to attend a preparation course beforehand.  For more information please contact Father Norman.

Marriage:  Ideally the Catholic partner/partners should be committed to the life of the Church.  As marriage involves preparation and a lot of paperwork, we require 9 months’ notice.  So, if you are planning marriage here, or if you live in the parish and plan to get married in another parish, or abroad, please let us know in plenty of time.

Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession):The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available every Saturday from 6.00 to 6.20pm, as well as on request.

Sacrament of the Sick:  If you are unwell in any way, you should avail yourself of the Sacrament of the Sick, which will give you the Lord’s strength and healing.

Also, if you are housebound and cannot come to Mass, can you please let Sister Margaret know, so that you can receive Holy Communion on a regular basis.

First Holy Communion:  Preparation this year is being carried out at St John’s RC Primary School, where Year 3 children are receiving instruction.

Confirmation Programme:  Please contact Sister Margaret regarding preparation for this Sacrament.
