The
Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is the lowest point
on earth. At 1300 feet below sea level, this sea has five to seven
times the minerals of other seas. It's Hebrew name "Ha-Melah" (The Sea
of Salt) is more appropriate. This lake has a salt concentration
eight times that of the ocean. It is so heavy and dense that everyone
floats without effort. The Judaen desert stretches along this coast
as mountains literally hug its shore and springs flow into its basin.
