St. Columba School
GENERAL INFORMATION & MISSION

Beacons of Hope, Peace and Justice
Christ is the reason for this school,
the unseen, ever-present
teacher, the model of its faculty
and the inspiration of its teachers
Mission Statement
St. Columba School exists to provide a Christ-centered
environment wherein quality education helps each child grow in faith, knowledge
and love of God.
Philosophy
We at Saint Columba School recognize the worth and dignity of
each individual as a child of God.
Through daily examples of words and actions, we strive to guide all
students to their fullest potential and to promote an atmosphere that
encourages each child to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally,
and physically.
The staff works with parent/guardians to build a
solid foundation of Christian moral values, self-confidence, self-discipline
and self-worth that will remain in each child throughout adult life. We seek to instill the love of God and
neighbor so that each child becomes an active contributor to Church and
Community.
It is our goal to make the
spiritual development and religious education of our students the school’s
highest priority. Our objectives are met
by providing our students with opportunities that encourage the development of
Christian morals and values on a daily basis.
Teachers serve as role models for the students by
creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation thereby promoting
Christian values and morals. The pattern of the relationship between students is one of seeing
Christ in others through mutual respect and tolerance of differences. It can be concluded that teachers,
parent/guardians and students work together to build a Christian community
based on faith and trust in each other.
