Sacraments

Infant Baptism: [birth to age 6] - It is the policy of the Archdiocese of Washington that parents must attend parental baptismal classes before the child is born. Please contact the parish office during pregnancy to register.

Adult Baptism: Adults, considered such by the Church at the age of reason [7 and up], are required to follow the process described in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Visit the RCIA Page.

Confirmation: Any child over the age of seven or any adult who is in need of this Sacrament is asked to contact the parish office.

Anointing of the Sick: Communal anointing celebrated seasonally; individually, upon request. Please notify the parish office if someone in your family is to be hospitalized. We would like to anoint the sick at home, but we cannot if we do not know.

Marriage: It is the policy of the Archdiocese of Washington that couples contact the parish at least six months in advance to begin preparations. Permission is needed first from the Church prior to other arrangements [reception, etc.]. Visit the Marriage Preparation Page.

Funerals: The deceased must either be a registered member, a resident within the parish's official boundaries or a former parishioner. Please contact the parish office prior to other arrangements [funeral home, cemetery, etc.]. Exceptions to this policy are made.

Holy Communion for the Sick: Contact the rectory for arrangements for visit by a Eucharistic Minister during the week as well as weekends.
