Purpose and Objectives
Purpose. The primary purpose of the Spirit of the Living God Catholic
Charismatic Prayer Community is to assist its members in their efforts to seek
renewal for their love of the Lord through the Roman Catholic
faith. This threefold mission is as follows:
- a. Evangelization - announcing the Good News that through the Father's
love, Jesus' life, death and resurrection makes it possible for all to be reconciled to
the Father and receive the fullness of salvation. "For God so loved the world, that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but
have eternal life." (John 3:16);
- b. Sanctification - living lives which witness to the wholeness and
holiness which comes through the power of the Holy Spirit;
- c. Renewal of the Temporal Order - cooperating with the Holy Spirit's
work of renewing the face of the earth, prompting proper relationship with God.
Objectives.
- a. As a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, family-oriented and nonpartisan prayer group,
the Spirit of the Living God Catholic Charismatic Prayer Community will
assist the poor and the needy.
- b. To encourage Bible studies and the reading of Christian literatures; to establish Bible
Sharing (cell groups); to hold weekly prayer meetings; to conduct seminars/teachings for
the spiritual growth of the members and the participating of the community, at large.
- c. To support the different projects of St. Columba Church and the operation of this
Catholic Charismatic Prayer Community, and to make donations to tax exempt 501(c)(3)
organizations of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provisions of
any future United States Internal Revenue Code).
