SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

MAY 13, 2012

PASTOR’S CORNER

The Obvious

The redefinition of marriage that is happening in the West is a sign of decay of civilization and a sign of self-destruction. When marriage and family are at risk, society is also at risk.

It is obvious that marriage is a union between man and woman open to life. However, what has long been obvious no longer seems so. “Gay marriage,” legalized as a matter of civil rights, is nothing more than an attempt to redefine marriage, contradicting both nature and revelation.

As Catholics we cannot keep our convictions out of what is going on. In Maryland, “same-sex marriage” was approved. The Maryland Catholic Conference is working to repeal legislation that drastically redefines marriage in Maryland. It is really very important to sign the petition. It is our duty to do so. Let us defend marriage in Maryland!
