MISSIONARIES OF OUR LADY OF LA SALETTE

  The congregation of priests and brothers with simple vows devoted to preaching missions and retreats, conducting parishes, shrines and centers of devotion to Our Lady of La Salette.
  Their origin began in the group of diocesan priest organized in 1852 by Bishop Philibert de Bruillard of Grenoble, France, to serve in the church which was build on the site of the apparition. In 1876, the first seminary was opened and the first priests left for Norway in June 1880. In 1881, the major seminary moved to Switzerland and in 1896 to Rome. Two priests were sent to America in 1892 to begin a seminary in Hartford, Cenneticut. In 1899, missionaries left for Madagascar.
  Now we can find Missionaries of Our Lady from La Salette in 25 countries around the world preaching the message of Our Lady of La Salette - the call to convertion and reconciliation.
