FIRST COMMUNION REGISTRATION
The parents who would like their children to be in the Communion Programme in 2009/10 are asked to come for their interview with Fr Mariusz THIS Sunday 5th July after 11am Mass till 1.00pm or THIS Monday 6th July from 6.45pm – 7.45pm. The children must be 7 years old by the end of August 2009 and baptized in the Catholic faith. Please note there will be NO other registration after Monday 6th July.
OUR LADY’S SHRINE, at the back of the church, will be open for parishioners to visit, sit, stroll, pray or meditate EVERY SUNDAY morning from 8.30am till 12.30pm. Please do make use of this facility. Our Lady would love to see you!
N.B. Passage, to & from the Shrine, is via the door by the votive lights!
At present we have very few DAILY MASS INTENTIONS. These are one of the highest forms of prayer. We would strongly encourage parishioners to avail themselves of this way of remembering friends, relatives even themselves. You DON’T have to book these only on a Sunday. ANY time, preferably [before we take up our various duties] in the morning will do.

The Parish of Our Lady of la Salette was formed in 1938. The first priest was Fr John Cotter who arrived from America at the invitation of Bishop Dubleday from Brentwood. The very first Mass was celebrated in the parish church on Maundy Thursday 6th April 1939. The primary school was started in 1955 and opened in January 1960. By 1963 the original church proved to be too small and plans were drawn to build the present one and new presbytery (opened in October 1967)
