I hope that you are all having a wonderful summer. I have 3 BIG news items for you.
No. 1
The Toledo Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting (TDCCS) is hosting a
diocesan wide picnic.
Who:
for any members of any of our Catholic Committees on Scouting within the Toledo
diocese, and their families,
and for any Scouters (and their
families) that are serving Catholic youth in Scouting.
When:
Monday, July 18, 2005 starting at 6:00 pm
Where:
one of the shelters in Carter Park in Bowling Green, under the BG water tower
near I-75.
Carter Park is on Campbell Hill Road
about 5 blocks south of Wooster Street (Rts 64/105). South of BGSU stadium.
Cost:
Bring a small desert or side dish to share.
Meal:
Hot dogs, buns, condiments, tableware, "bug" drink will be provided.
Activities:
Bring your frisbees and play in the 1st annual TDCCS Frisbee Golf Tournament.
There is an 18 "hole" (cage)
course at the park. We may even have prizes.
RSVP: Even though it isn't totally
necessary, please let me know if you are coming and with how many people.
No. 2
The TDCCS is sponsoring a
"Year of the Eucharist - Pope John Paul II" patch
program for 2005.
See the attachments for a picture of the
patch and the requirements to earn it.
People only have through the end of 2005 to
earn this wonderful patch, so let's get started right away.
No. 3
The TDCCS has recently chartered BSA
Venture Crew 1600. Diocesan wide for
boys and girls age 14 and up.
See the attachment on Venture Crew 1600 to
get more information about it and how to join.
This "venture" of the TDCCS could be a big
boost to Catholic Scouting in our diocese.
Right now we are in need of getting youth
and adults registered into the Crew.
We need to get the word out on the above 3 items ASAP. Please pass this information out to as many Catholic Scouts and Scouters that you can. Look at my "send to" list above. If you know of anyone that might be interested in any of the above 3 items, (and you see that I didn't send this to them) foreword this e-mail to them ASAP.
