Forming a Community of Christ

March 15, 2006
“Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
We are “clean of heart” when we are faithful to God's teachings and try to see God in all people and in all situations.

At mass today we were reminded that “the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve”. (Matt.20: 28) If we are to follow the
example of Jesus, we need to serve and care for others. This is not always easy to do but it is what we are called to do. I would like to
thank Mrs. Meyer and 3M for preparing and participating in today's liturgy.

Spotlight on Home & School Fundraising – At the last Home & School meeting there was a discussion about fundraising. Home &
School uses the money raised to fund all the activities they sponsor throughout the year and to purchase “extras” for the school. There
was overwhelming consensus to do away with fundraising and just charge a Home & School activity fee. This process will be discussed
at the next meeting on April 5
th at 7 pm in Schaefer Hall with the hopes of implementing the plan for the upcoming school year. If you have
thoughts to share on how to fund the activities please attend.

On Saturday, March 10th, a group of fifth and sixth grade students represented St. Norbert School in the MCTM Math Contest held at CBC
High School. Casey Turner placed 9
th out of sixty-four fifth graders. Other participants were George Nelson, Shayo Oginni, Johnny
Alveraz, Neil Yeargain, Lizzie Sextro, Caity Reinfurt, and Joe Milliano.
Congratulations to all those who participated and represented our school so well. I would also like to thank Mrs. Thuet, for working with
these students and accompanying them to the contest.

March Madness is in the air! The third grade girls finished their basketball season on Saturday with a record of
10 – 0. Congratulations to team members Busola Oginni, Claire Downey, Spohie Downey, Emily Schaeffler, and Bria Rice.

Debbie Flower won the 8th Grade raffle. Debbie is a co-worker of Chris Kinnison, mother of Corey, 8D.

Honey Baked Ham is running a promotion on certificates purchased to buy hams, turkeys, etc. The school will get 20% of the sales.
Watch for your certificate order form to come home on Monday, March 28
th. With Easter, Confirmation, Mother's Day, First Communion,
and Graduation celebrations coming up, it's a great time to buy a ham!

The St. Norbert School Board will have two openings for the 2006-2007 school year. Each position is a three year term, with the
membership serving in an advisory capacity to the Principal and Pastor regarding educational issues at St. Norbert School. If you are
interested in joining the School Board, please plan to attend either of the next two meetings (March 21
st or April 18th) which will be held in
the Kaletta Room at 7 pm.

Please join us tomorrow, March 16th for “Sis Boom Bah” a musical play being performed by the Sixth Grade students. Doors open at 6:30
pm and the performance will begin at 7:00 pm. Hope to see you there!

I'll leave you with our Lenten prayer:

Enable us, O Lord, to keep a good and holy Lent,
And bring us quickly to the glory of Easter.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
