Year
after year our Parishioners, young and not so young, join in for a
fun filled time at our Parish Picnic. Family, Friends, Food and Fun,
that’s what the St. Norbert Picnic is all about. For
those new to our community, the purpose of our annual Parish Picnic
is to strengthen family ties, establish new friendships, and enjoy
old ones.
Last
year’s picnic was a great success. The picnic and last
year’s auction contributed to the parish’s operating
budget and to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, which helps the poor
and needy within our parish boundaries. There’s a lot of
good that comes from a great time at these parish events. So
please join us for another fun filled year.
REMINDER
- This year's picnic will once
again NOT be held on Mother's Day weekend. Our dates for
the 2008 Parish Picnic will be May 2th and 3th. Please
spread the word.

CROSSFIRE!
Enjoy
the band Crossfire under the stars on Friday and Saturday nights
this year from 7 to 11 pm.
Dance
the night away with Crossfire and St. Norbert’s own Larry
Branam.
GENERAL
INFO
Once
again, this year's picnic will offer: raffles, carnival rides, game
booths, BBQ, Bingo, a Cake Walk, pull-tabs, and of course Saturday
night’s Margarita Bar!
Egyptian
Expo will provide the carnival rides again this year. Among
their many rides you'll find: the Cobra, Scatt, Sizzler, Heart Flip,
Big and Little Swings and Ferris Wheels and others. Tickets for
these rides are sold separately at the picnic.
Friday Evening
Begin
your weekend Friday evening on the Midway, rides and the St. Norbert
games kickoff at 5:00 p.m. The concession stand opens at 6:00 p.m.
At
7:00pm Mary Weinman, Karen Fischer and company will start serving gin
buckets to set the mood for the band Crossfire, with St. Norbert’s
own Larry Branam.
Try
your luck with Pull-Tabs! This year we will again have 25 and
50 cent pull-tabs available throughout the picnic.
Friday's
St. Norbert games will close at 10:00 p.m. All other activities
will continue until 11:00 p.m.
Saturday Saturday’s
activities begin at 12 noon.
If
you’re looking for shade from that warm noon sun, join us in
the air-conditioned gym starting at noon for an old fashioned Cake
Walk. We’ll be baking up a lot of fun from noon to 2:00
p.m.
If
you need to cool off, beginning at 3:00 it’s back into the gym
for Bingo time!
Join
Bingo-man Luis Martinez for that classic game of chance with a side
of fun. Once again there will be severs to bring food and
drinks to those dedicated Bingo players in the air-conditioned gym.
Please note you must be at least 16 years old to play Bingo.
My
two favorite words “Margarita Bar!” Phyllis Timmermann
and friends will begin serving at 7:00 p.m. as the music of CROSSFIRE
fills the air and the St. Norbert games wind down.
The
2008 St. Norbert picnic will come to an end at 11:00 p.m.
RAFFLES
This
is the perfect time to get a Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day,
or graduation gift. Anyone could win at our raffles: 50/50,
Wheelbarrow of Cheer, Theme Baskets and Painted
Pots.
This
is the second year for a great raffle that everyone will want, eight
tickets to the 2008 St. Norbert Auction!

course our picnic would not be the same without our famous Theme
Baskets and Painted Pots. This
year once again the baskets and painted pots will be awarded as a
raffle.
50/50
Raffle
Three
winners split the proceeds with the church. 1st place receives 50% of
the winners' share, 2nd place takes home 30%, and 3rd place will
claim 20% of the tantalizing take. Ticket prices are
$5.00/ticket or 5 for $20.00.
Wheelbarrow of Cheer!
The
winner of this raffle will not only win a terrific wheelbarrow, but
also stock their bar at the same time - the wheelbarrow comes filled
with wine and spirits! Presale tickets are $1.00/ticket
or 7 for $5.00. Donations are still needed to fill the
wheelbarrow. Please drop off unopened bottles to the rectory or
contact Jeannie Spotanski 839-1638.
