Saint Norbert Parish Meeting Minutes 10/14/06

Letter / Communications were reviewed

Presentation on Welcome New Parishioners Program from Tammy Hall was canceled and will be rescheduled to later date.     

There was no participation to The Archdiocese Parish Council Training Seminar from Saint Norbert.  

A representative from Saint Norbert is needed to represent the North County Deanery before January. It was suggested to try to outreach other members of the parish by posting position on our board or newsletters  

Pastor's Report

The Church Color Sign – father Jim said we are one step closer to it, thank to the great input he had received from one or two of the parishioners. More details will come…  

Father Rich will be coming back next week.

The ramp for Father Rich has been completed along with other minor changes to the rectory in order to accommodate his needs more effectively.

Father Jim said that more and more people are in favor of the many projects involving the church and school as evidence by a meeting he had on Oct 5. Lots of great ideas are being considered to fund those “worthwhile pursuing” needs. A town hall meeting may take place in the future to go over the details.

Sound System Update – Papers will be signed this month and submitted with the corresponding down payment.

Direct automated contribution to church is going to be a convenience reality in the near future for our parishioner.

Rectory office update:  Father Jim stated that an architect has met with him to lay out the plan.

Elderly needs evaluation is being conducted by (2) aging groups in South City.

Family Fun day has been moved to April. Another youth retreat from different schools may be created focusing on a variety of subjects matter like living reality through experience and emotions.

Father announced that there will be a five-day- evening event of recollection the first week of advent at Saint Norbert. He also said that a combined Ritual Christian Service will take place wed before Thanksgiving @7:00 pm in Saint Norbert.

New Business

Jill suggested one of us search for our technology funding thru foundations like Bill Gates. One member has been assigned to the task.
