February 2005 Parish Council Meeting Minutes

Attendance: Fr. Pat Ryan, Fr. Rich Buchheit, Kevin McMichael, Ron Taylor, Bud Alexander, Risë Schreiber, Ken Poorman, John Brendel, Rick Gwydir, and Jill Anselm

 

Absent: Joe Mooney

 

The Parish Council met with members of the Finance Committee: Tony Naughton, Juan Alvarez, Rick Jacobsmayer, and Mark Muesenfechter, in an executive session to discuss the tuition rate for the 2005-2006 school year and the budget.  The Finance Committee will meet again on Sunday, February 13, 2005 with Fr. Ryan to finalize the budget. 

 

January meeting minutes were approved.  A copy of the minutes will be forwarded to Betty Gravlin to post on the parish website and a copy will be put on the bulletin board in the gathering area.

 

Old Business:

 

  1. Fr. Pat reported that the Archbishop’s approved Strategic Plan for our Deanery will be published in the St. Louis Review on Friday, February 11, 2005. 

 

  1. Jill Anselm will meet with members of the parish who volunteered to help plan St. Norbert’s 40th Anniversary Celebration and report back to the council at our meeting in March.

 

  1. The Town Hall Meeting will be held Saturday, February 12, 2005 from 10:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. 

 

  1. John Brendel reported that the plans are in place for Deacon Len Sisul’s Farewell Party.  It will be held after the 11:00a.m. Mass on Sunday, February 20, 2005.  Sandwiches, vegetable trays, and cheese and crackers will be served.  The council approved a monetary gift from the parish.

 

  1. Representatives from the Aquinas Institute Apollos Project will meet with the Parish Council and other representatives from the parish on February 24, 2005 at 7:00p.m. to evaluate our ministry needs. 

 

New Business:

 

  1. The schedule for three new parish council board member nominations will be as follows:

March 27, 2005--Announcement in the Sunday bulletin

April 3 and April 10, 2005--Nomination cards will be placed in the pews at Mass

April 17 to April 24, 2005--Nominees will be contacted

April 24, 2005--Fr. Pat will meet with the nominees to explain membership on the council.

May 1, 2005--New member’s names will be drawn at Mass.

 

The meeting closed with a prayer by Fr. Pat.
