St. Norbert Parish Council Meeting Minutes

Thursday, April 14, 2005

Attendance: Fr. Rich Buchheit,Kevin McMichael, Joey Mooney, Bud Alexander, Ron Taylor, Rise Schreiber, Ken Poorman, and Jill Anselm

Absent: Rick Gwydir, John Brendel, and Fr. Pat Ryan

March 2005 amended meeting minutes were approved.

Old Business:

  1. Fr. Pat received a letter of notification that St. Norbert’s Parish has been approved for the Aquinas Institute Project grant.

  2. Jill Anselm updated the council on the plans for St. Norbert’s 40th anniversary celebration. The date has been set for Saturday, June 11, 2005. The celebration will start with 5:00p.m. Mass, followed by a Pot-Luck dinner, and then a night at the movies. Sign up’s will be held after Masses on May 22nd, 29th, and June 5th to determine the number of attendees. We will also advertise the event in the Sunday bulletin and a flyer will be sent home with the students the last week of school.

  3. Several nominations were received for the parish council. Council members divided the names to contact the nominee’s and invite them to a meeting after the 11:00 a.m. Mass with Fr. Pat where he will explain the responsibility of being a council member. Three names will be drawn at Mass on May 1, 2005.
  4. Ken Poorman updated the council on stewardship. A more detailed account of weekly collections is now published in the bulletin. A yearly program on stewardship is available through the Archdiocese.
  5. Jill Anselm updated the council on the Goal Reports from the parish organizations.No additional reports have been submitted. Each council rep is to contact their organizations to remind them to submit this form. The next Leadership Meeting was discussed but no date set.

    6. New Business:

    1. The Parish Council Greeter Assignment is June 4th and June 5th

    2. The June Parish Council Meeting will be the welcome meeting for the new members.

    The meeting closed with a prayer by Fr. Rich Buchheit.
