Fr. Tom Wyrsch was appointed as pastor in October of 1995, replacing Fr. Bob Muesenfechter, who took an assignment as active senior priest at St. Pauls’ in Fenton. Fr. Tom is 44 years old, and was raised in St. Pius parish, so he is happy to be back on the South Side. He was ordained in 1978. Earlier assignments include St. Kevins’s in St. Ann Mo., St. David’s in Arnold, St. Aloysius on the Hill, , and recently six years as Associate Pastor at St. Simon’s in Concord Village (now Green Park). He is very interested in, not just the preservation, but the growth of the South Side as it incorporates new people and becomes part of the American experiment.
Fr. Bob Argent has been Senior Associate at Resurrection for three years now. He was an assistant administrator at DuBourg High School for many years, where his firm but caring ways earned him the nickname “Sergeant Argent.” Fr. Argent was pastor at St. Matthias, All Saints at St. Peter’s Mo., and St. Getrude in Krakow. He is bringing great skills in parish administration, including the Archdiocesan computer accounting and census program, Q-Rator; gifts for liturgy and preaching, and rapport with both children and adults.
Our secretaries split the week between them. Pat Biffignani works Monday and Tuesday, as she has for 17 years. Her duties have increased no to do much of the parish billing and payroll and related services. JoAnn McTigue works Wednesday through Friday as she has for ten years, and she nows prepares and sends the buuletin by computer modem each week.
Other staff includes Rita Brozovich, who cleans the rectory: Karen Kuppinger cleans the church, as well as performing music duties for the church and school; and Mel Scheurer, maintenance work for many years now. Donna Tierney, a parishoner of St. Simon’s, is the cook, coming three days a week to prepare meals for the priests and other staff members.
