Children’s Liturgy .

The children of the parish are withdrawn at the 10.45 am Mass on Sundays to have the Liturgy of the Word delivered to them at their own level. The children are called forward to process out of the church just before the 1st Reading. A team of parishioners deliver the Liturgy.

Once a month we have a Children’s Mass where the children participate more fully in the Liturgy of the Mass.
They say the Penitential Rite
they do the Reading,
They also hear the Gospel and the homily on the altar steps
They also say the Bidding Prayers
and form the Offertory Procession.

as well as gathering round the altar for the Consecration before returning to their families at the Sign of Peace.

In addition to this ongoing catechesis, the children also participate in a Nativity play on the Sunday before Christmas, a procession with palms on Palm Sunday and the crowning of the statue of Our Lady in May. When preparing for Sacraments the children are involved in the relevant services. Occasionally the children provide some music and singing at Mass and this is an area some parishioners are working on to increase.

All children are welcome to come along and join us as we celebrate Mass each week.
