Communion & Visitation to the Sick
Coordinated by Pastoral Associate Juanita Contreras, this group brings Holy Communion and friendship to parishioners confined at home, the hospital or a nursing home.
Please call the office if you know of someone who would like Communion, or would like to receive the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Also contact us if you know of a hospitalized parishioner who is not at Lourdes Medical Center.
Every Friday there is a Mass at the Tri-Cities Retirement Home in Pasco at 11:00 AM.
Volunteers are welcome to assist with home visitations and the nursing home ministry. Contact the parish office for information.

Funerals
Call the office as soon as possible when a death has occurred.
- You will receive the booklet Through Death to Life that explains the symbols and rituals of Christian burial. You will be able to select readings and prayers for use at the Mass and plan other aspects of the funeral liturgy.
- The vigil service or Rosary may be held at the funeral home or the Church. They are usually conducted by one of our Deacons.
- The Mass of Christian Burial must be held at the Church. A Rite of Christian Burial may be held at the Funeral Home, but not a Mass.
- A list of musicians is available for you to contact for music at the funeral.
- The Our Lady of Cana Guild of the Altar Society will serve a dinner at the Parish Center following the service. It is helpful if you can provide an estimate of how many might attend.

Prision Ministry
Coordinated by Victor Ortega, this group visits area correctional facilities, as well as the penitentiary at Walla Walla. They spend time in prayer, distribute bibles, information on the Catholic faith and lead prayer services.
If you know of a Catholic who is confined to a correctional facility, please call the office so that
Victor and the Prison Ministry team can visit them. Victor needs both English and Spanish speaking volunteers this ministry. Please contact him at 545-4871.

Charitable Work
Churches are frequently contacted to assist persons in need of clothing, housing, food, transportation, assistance with utility and medical bills, etc. At St. Patrick's all of this is provided through the local conference of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, which is supported by a special collection taken up on the 2nd. Sunday of every month at all weekend Masses.
Assistance is provided at the St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank facility at 115 West Lewis every Wednesday from 12:00 - 4:00 PM. For emergency assistance at other times please contact their answering machine directly at 544-9315. Messages are checked regularly though out the day. We are unable to provide direct assistance at the parish office.

Vietnamese Catholic Community
The Vietnamese Catholic Community in the Tri-Cities numbers
approximately 200. In addition to being active in the life of their geographic
parishes, there is a Vietnamese language Mass each month at St. Patrick's,

Operation Rice Bowl Lenten Program
Our parish participates in the Rice Bowl program of prayer, fasting, education and almsgiving. Monies collected fund Catholic Relief Services projects around the world. Twenty-five percent of Operation Rice Bowl contributions remain here in the Spokane Diocese for projects that help the poor in our community.

Soup Nights
Every Monday night during Lent: 5:30 - 6:30 PM, hosted by parish organizations. Those who attend are encouraged to donate the money they save by not preparing a meal at home, with all proceeds going to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

GUATEMALA MISSION
The Spokane Diocese has collaborated with the Diocese of Solalá in central Guatemala since 1960. Initially the Spokane Diocese was directly responsible for the care of three parishes there. In 1992 Bishop William Skylstad of Spokane and Bishop Eduardo Fuentes of Sololá formed a new ministerial covenant. The Diocese of Spokane continues it's commitment to assist the Sololá diocese to meet the spiritual and material needs of it's people, without having direct responsibility for particular parishes there. Our diocese provides priests and other personnel to the Sololá diocese. Many parishes in our diocese assist with the Guatemala mission in special ways, including support for schools, seminarians, health care and development projects.
In October 1985 a Guatemala Sister Parish program was formed at St. Patrick's. Projects included collecting tools, selling textiles woven by widows, a new water line for the town of Nahuala (1986), and a Primary Health Care Clinic in the village of Xheba II (1988). Parish visitation teams have traveled to Guatemala in 1988, 1989 and 1990.
Since 1989 St. Patrick's has provide the annual stipend for Sr. Immaculata Burke, S.C. A native of Ireland and a member of the Sisters of Charity in New York, Sr. Immaculata has worked as a nurse practitioner in Guatemala since 1971. On October 4, 1992 she received the papal medal Pro Ecclesia ET Pontifice (The Honor of the Cross: On behalf of the Church and the Pontiff). Bishop William Skylstad made the presentation at St. Patrick Church, Pasco. It was only the second time she has visited the diocese since beginning work in the Guatemala mission.
The Guatemala Envelope in your monthly packet goes directly to support Sr. Immaculata. Those contributions, together with offerings from parish organizations, help us meet our $6,500 annual goal for the mission.

Comunión y Visitas a los Enfermos
Coordinado por la Asociada Pastoral Juanita Contreras este grupo visita a parroquianos que están limitados a estar en sus casas, el hospital o casa de Retiro. Ellos les llevan la Comunión, oran con ellos y también pasan tiempo de componía con ellos.
Favor de comunicarse con la Oficina Parroquial si usted conoce a alguien que necesita que le lleven la Comunión, o que desean recibir la unción de los enfermos. También, comuníquese con nosotros si usted sabe de algún parroquiano que esta hospitalizado y nos en el Hospital Lourdes.
Cada Viernes hay Misa en el Tri-Cities Retirement Inn. Llame a la Oficina Parroquial para mas información de los horarios.

Funerales
Favor de comunicarse con la oficina parroquial tan pronto ocurra el fallecimiento de una persona.
- El servicio vígil puede será celebrado en la casa Fúnebre o la Iglesia.
- Servios vigiles o Rosarios por lo normal son conducidos por las Guadalupanas.
- La Misa del Servicio Cristiano debe ser celebrado en la Iglesia. El Rito del Servicio Cristiano puede ser celebrado en la casa Fúnebre, pero no la Misa.
- La oficina les puede proporcionar una lista de músicos para que toquen en el Funeral.
- Las Guadalupanas les proporcionaran una comida después del servicio Fúnebre. La oficina hará los arreglos necesarios. Usted les puede ayudar con dándoles un prosupuesto de cuantas personas cree que van atender.

Ministerio de las Prisiones
Coordinado por el Diacono Andrés Espinoza, este grupo visitas a las cárceles en nuestra área, y también a la penitenciaria de Walla Walla. Ellos oran con los presos, les dan Biblias, información sobre la Fe Católica y tienen servicios de Oración.
Si usted sabe de algún Católico que esta encarcelado, favor de llamar a la Oficina Parroquial para que el Diacono Andrés Espinoza y el Ministro de las Prisiones puedan ir a visitarlos.
El Diacono Espinoza necesita voluntarios de ambas comunidades (Hable Hispano y Ingles) que puedan ayudarle en llevar acabo este programa. Favor de comunicarse con él al 547-5883 para mas información sobre este ministerio.

Trabajo de Beneficencia
Con frecuencia las Iglesias son contactadas para asistir a las personas con necesidad de ropa, vivienda, comida, transportación, asistencia con el pago de las utilidades o de medicamentos, etc. En la Parroquia de San Patricio esta ayuda es proporcionada por la Sociedad de San Vicente de Paúl, la cual es recaudada por la colecta del Segundo Domingo del Mes.
Asistencia será proporcionada en el Banco de Comida que esta localizada en el 115 West Lewis cada Miércoles de 12:00 a 4:00 PM. Para ayuda de emergencia favor de llamar al numero 544-9315 y dejen un mensaje. La maquina es chequeada cada hora para mensajes nuevos. No se nos hace posible disponer de ayuda en la Oficina Parroquial, lo sentimos.

Operación Tazón de Arroz -Programa
Cuaresmal
Nuestra Parroquia participa en el programa de Tazón de Arroz, con sus oraciones, ayunos, educación o con asistencia de Dinero. Durante el tiempo de Cuaresma los materiales y cajas para donaciones de dinero están localizados en la Iglesia. Los fondos recaudados son para financiar proyectos de los Servicios de Ayuda Católica en áreas como África, Asia, Europa Oriente y Latino América. 25% de las contribuciones obtenidas del Tazón de Arroz se quedan aquí mismo en la Diócesis de Spokane para ayudarle a los proyectos de asistencia a los pobres de nuestra comunidad.

Noche de Sopa
Son todos los Lunes durante el Tiempo de Pascua en el Gimnasio de 5:30 - 6:30 PM para una cena de Sopas. Cada semana diferentes grupos de la Parroquia se tornean para preparar sopas deliciosas. Pan, galletas, y jugo serán proporcionados. A esas personas que atiendan se les pide que den una donación que serán donadas a la Sociedad de San Vicente De Paúl.
