Parish Structures

Parish Pastoral Council

This is an advisory steering group for the parish, made up of ex officio and coopted members. Their names and photos are on display in the church porch at St Augustine’s. They meet four times a year, and focus on key issues of developing the parish.

Parish Youth Council

A representative group of about 15 young people from secondary school years 11-13 (Fifth & Sixth Formers), who meet together once a term to take an active part in leading our parish forward.

Links Forum

An annual gathering of all commissioned ‘Link People’, as a way of increasing representation and participation across the whole parish. This involves over 100 parishioners. If you have ideas on the parish, tell your area link people, or members of the Parish Pastoral Council.

Finance & Buildings Committee

A group of twelve people who oversee the management of the parish’s finances. These include not only the priests and deacons, but also our parish treasurer and our property manager, an architect, a solicitor and a certified accountant.

Social Events Committee

A small group organises regular large-scale social events in the parish, often using our school halls as venues. Recent events have included quiz nights, dinner dances, parish walks, theatre trips, and a Parish Murder Night! Keep an eye on the social events notice board in the church porch.
