Types of membership
There are two types of membership, Ordinary and Associate. Both types of members can attend and speak at the AGM, but only ordinary members can vote and hold office.
The following are eligible for ordinary membership:
- Any priests or deacons who have at any time been connected with the diocesan seminaries.
- Past or present teaching staff of St John's Seminary, whether priests, religious or lay.
The following are eligible for associate membership:
- Other priests and deacons.
- Those currently studying for the priesthood at St John's Seminary.
- Former students of the diocesan seminaries, even if not ordained.
The annual membership fee is £5 for one year, or £125 for life. Annual membership fees are normally payable when details of the forthcoming AGM are sent out. Members attending the AGM and the lunch usually find it most convenient to include their membership fee with the payment for the lunch.
