About St John's Seminary

Welcome to the Saint John's Association

The Association was founded in 1899, nine years after the opening of St John's Seminary, Wonersh. Its purpose was to gather together past students who were now priests, to celebrate their time at Wonersh.

Since then the Association has broadened its membership to include those associated in various ways with St John's, but it has remained a central aim of the Association to celebrate the gift of vocation to the priesthood and the diaconate, and to offer encouragement and support to those in training at St John's.

Over the years since it was founded, the Association has also helped the seminary and its students in many practical ways, by providing financial and material help for various projects.

The Association celebrates an annual Mass at the seminary, followed by a meeting which includes the discussion of current and future projects, concluding with a dinner with the students and staff of St John's.
