Diploma in Pastoral TheologyCourse RequirementsNo academic qualifications are required for the diploma course. Qualifying for the diplomaThere are no examinations during or at the end of the course. Any written assignments given by the tutors are completed by students on a voluntary basis . Students qualify for the diploma through regular attendance, completion of the coursework, and undertake personal study of set texts. We do also ask our students to prepare formal notes on one of the modules and to summarise their reactions to what they have learnt in the form of an essay or other expression of their feelings. We also encourage them to assess their own work and discuss collected course material with a tutor. In addition, students are invited to undertake a Parish Profile. Account is taken of any parish and community involvement during the course. The course is completed by a formal interview with a tutor. FeesThe fees for the current year for the diploma are £800. Communities and parishes may offer some financial support to students to actively engaged in lay ministry.
