A Brief Outline - Sharing Faith in Small Groups

Here in the Parish of Christ Church Eltham, we are beginning to set up small groups within the community which meet on a regular basis to read the Gospel and Share Faith. The purpose is of the initiative is: -

  1. to grow as a Parish community by meeting , talking and sharing - especially by reaching out to those we don't yet know very well
  2. to grow spiritually through the sharing of faith
  3. to begin to develop a Vision for the Parish of Christ Church Eltham

In the Diocese of Westminster a Faith Sharing programme, 'At Your word Lord' was launched in 2003. Information and materials related to the Westminster programme are available through their website:

We have been using material from the 'At Your Word' programme as we begin to build our own Faith Sharing programme in the Parish. Materials for Small Communities Sharing Faith are available to print and use weekly, from the Westminster website.

On Saturday October 23rd 2004 a Parish Away is planned. As we share a day together we hope also to share ideas and work towards creating our own Vision for the Parish of Christ Church.

Our Prayer
God our loving Father,
Who made us your children in baptism,
pour out on us afresh the gifts of your Holy Spirit.
Open our ears to hear your Word,
open our hearts to you in prayer,
that we may receive with ever deeper faith the Bread of Life.
Strengthened through these gifts
make us signs of your presence to the world of today.
Father, hear our humble prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord.
