Altar Servers

We have a thriving group of altar servers in the parish. Anybody, male or female, who has made their First Holy Communion is welcome to apply to become an altar server. After serving for approximately a year servers are invited to seek admission to the Archconfraternity of Saint Stephen.

Altar servers are divided into 9 ranks, with Masters of Ceremonies overseeing them. We ask a high standard of our altar servers and the quality of serving, it must be said, is very high indeed. The servers show great gusto in their serving (particularly with the amount of incense at Masses...) and we do all we can to encourage them.

As well as the serving at Masses we are instituting regular training sessions, and believe that social outings are of great importance.

The servers are also invited to take part in the Summer Altar Servers Camps run at Aylesford.
