1999 Small Schools 5-a-side Competition at Adlington School

St. Gregory's were recently chosen to play
in the Small Schools 5-a-side Competition at Adlington
School against 12 other schools .We liked this tournament
because in previous years we had won it or came
runners-up so we had a really good chance.
Our first Match was against Mobberly,
who we knew were a good team. In the game we were quite
nervous and a bit rusty but we won in the end 2-1 (a
close match!).
Our second Match was against Handforth Hall,
who we knew were going to be very hard to beat because
they had won their first game. But we stepped up a gear
from the last match and played some really excellent
Football. We won 2-0 in the end.
Our fourth Match was against Pott
Shrigley, who we knew were very hard because
they had very good players on their side. But we used our
skill and passed the ball around and eventually we won
2-0.
Our fifth and final match was against Bosley,
who had lost all their games unfortunately so we new it
wasn't going to be as hard as some of the other teams .We
won 3-0.
Now because we had won all the matches we got through to
the final against Handforth Hall. We
knew this was going to be the hardest game so far. But we
played some fantastic football and amazingly won 3-0 and
won back the trophy
for St. Gregory's school.
In the last few weeks our school Netball team
have been playing some matches. Here are all the results:
