To help our children, parents and friends grow in their relationship with God and each other through an education which is broad and balanced. We will ensure that Christian values permeate the whole life of the School with its relationships, curriculum, prayer and liturgy.
We will provide every opportunity to enhance the development of a sense of belonging to the family of God where each person is valued for who they are and treated with love, dignity and respect.
Aims of The SchoolWhilst some of the aims of the school are specialised and particular to the various activities and subject areas taught, there are overall aims which seek to meet the needs of each child's development personally, and of the society of which he/she is part.
Our school, therefore, attempts to create and foster an environment where each child can learn:
- to look after himself/herself.
- to get on with others and to recognise that others may have different needs and to respect them.
- to grow with a love for God and his/her fellow man in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Faith.
- to acquire skills and to develop his/her potential so that he/she can contribute effectively to society and achieve personal success in life.
- to develop awareness to be able to judge what is sound and worthwhile.
- to acquire an appreciation of the things in life that will make life rewarding.
St. Gregory's School web-site has been on-line since September 1998. Its purpose is to provide general information about the school to interested parties via the Internet, and to create an opportunity for pupils to contribute articles, poems, stories and photographs in magazine form.
School Web-Site PolicyThe web-site is designed and maintained by Mr. M. Dalzell (Parent). All items (including photographs) which are submitted to the web-site are vetted first for their suitability by Mrs. C. Connick (Head Teacher). In order to maintain confidentiality, pupils surnames are never published.
The web-site encourages visitors to leave messages in a guest book. Mr. M. Dalzell checks all entries to the guest book for appropriate use of language and content before they are published.
