Although we have never met and only know you through Barbara Leff we will always remember the kindness and thoughtfulness you showed to our family when our son Stewart died.  You remember Stewart's anniversary and offer prayers for him for which we are truly thankful.  We hope the messages and memories that people leave on Maria's website will be a great source of comfort to your family.  The website is wonderful and the pictures of Maria are beautiful. We pray for you all every day. All our love Diana, Dave, Stewart, Peter, Marie and Katherine xxxxxx

Words are the hardest things to find at these sorts of times, you never know what things to say but just because you don't say anything it doesn't mean you dont care. We have all thought very much about you Maria and how brave you must have been throughout your ordeal. We pray for you and your family as we know there is nothing more hurtful than loosing a loved one. People ask themselves why these sorts of thing have to happen but only god can answer. Your in our hearts forever and always xXx

Mary, Martin, Tim, Elizabeth. As family and friends are together to pray for Maria, my thoughts and my heart are joined with yours. I've been thinking of Maria and you all since I had the tragic news. I'm sorry, I can't find words to tell how I feel, I can't find words to give you comfort. I can only share your pain and be confident that your family will carry on with unity, love and joy. Tim, this site was good idea and a great job. I can tell you are a strong young man. Maria will always be with you, and remember: she wants you to be happy. Maria, you will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace.

We can't begin to imagine what you've been through over the last weeks and months but your faith and courage gave you grace. Now that you are one of God's angels look down on Mummy, Daddy, Tim and Elizabeth and they'll feel your warmth and the warmth of God's love.

I remember when me, Maria and David used to sit on the sofa with our prized cuddly toys and chat baby talk. We've still got the picture and I look at it in memory of Maria. I hope that you'll soon overcome your sadness. I know that Maria is in heaven now and happy with God. Me and Maria have been good friends since we were 4 and I miss her. From Joe.

Dear Martin, Mary, Tim and Elizabeth. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Maria. It is difficult at this time to find the right words to say but these have helped me in the past.

At this time of sadness, words cannot ease your pain,
there's a place Maria's parting left that can never be the same.
No one knows when the time will come when you all have to part,
that's why she's left sweet memories to heal your broken heart.
Even though she's resting now, she's just beyond your view,
at peace she'll be contented that her love will help you through.
So look for her in rainbows and in every sunny day
and then she can remind you that she's never far away.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Maria, I never met you but I saw the light in your fatherís eyes when he talked about you and I have seen your beautiful photograph. Here are a few words that may give a little comfort to your family.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

I found this poem and thought it summed up my feelings when I heard the tragic news about Maria.

"WHEN GOD CALLS LITTLE CHILDREN"

When God calls little children to dwell with him above,
We mortals sometime question the wisdom of his love
For no heartache compares with the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world, seem wonderful and mild
Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold,
So He picks a rosebud, before she can grow old.
God knows how much we need them, and so he takes but a few
To make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find.

Dear Maria, just to let you know I miss you. Do you remember that every time when I came to your house on Wednesdays that You, Lucy and I used to look out the window and ask Elizabeth 'Are there any cows in the field?'. I know you are happy with God now.
