Parish Mission Statement

St. Catherine of Siena was a woman of the Word, a theologian of great depth and a saint whose passion was the unity and integrity of the Church. This community of faith placed under her patronage and entrusted to her prayer looks to her good example for continued inspiration.

Together with our Bishop and all Catholics throughout the Diocese of Shreveport, we have embraced the Mission of Christ in Baptism.

We recognize that we are called to live that Mission: by creating a community of faith in which all people are welcome; by learning, loving and living the Word of God and the teachings of our Church; by celebrating the Eucharist and the Church’s other Sacraments with deep devotion; by responding to the needs of the various communities in which our parishioners live, particularly the Cedar Grove community in which our church is located; by providing for the religious education of our parishioners at every stage of life; by caring for one another and all we encounter with the concrete concern and compassion of Christ Himself. Grateful for the holy men and women who have handed on the faith to us and aware of the saints who will come after us, this community of God’s people gathered at St. Catherine of Sienna Church prays only that, in this time of grace, God might use us for His good purposes. His Will is our work.
