Volunteers in these programs work in conjunction with the Mercy Health Care System and/or Catholic Social Services. Volunteers must participate in some training sessions presented by the sponsoring agencies. Volunteers visit and phone the housebound and the elderly, and extend service in the dimension of running errands, doing light housekeeping, and providing transportation, etc. The need is great.
