Retreat Update

The Silver Penny Farm was packed to capacity with young adults from St. Gabriel for the Fall Retreat (Listening to God's Call). A great time was had by all! As for the waiting list, I apologize that we did not have room for everyone. A special thank you to Susan Brock, for all her help in planning and advertising the retreat, to Pat Cook & Kate Dineen, for their help with games and their presentation, to Marie Lindaas, for her help and initiative with cooking breakfast, and finally an extra special thank you to my retreat partner Christine Paintner, for putting together the journal and everything else.

Taize Prayer

Friday, December 11th @ 8:00pm
Presentation Convent Chapel (2340 Turk Blvd.)
Christine & I will meet you there!

Taize is a meditative form of prayer which involves singing and silence. The songs, or chants, are verses from Scripture woven into a tapestry of continuous prayer. The underlying aim is to enter into the mystery of God's presence.

For further questions, please call Dom Crean of USF at (415) 422-4463 or Sister Monica Miller of the Presentation Convent at (415) 751-0406.

Young Adult RENEW Groups

As part of a universal call for spiritual renewal of the Church in preparation of our 2000 birthday as a people of faith, the Archdiocese and St. Gabriel Parish has started the RENEW 2000 Campaign. The RENEW Program is scripture based and centered around small faith sharing communities.

With the second session of RENEW (being held during the six weeks of Lent), quickly approaching, I have heard from a growing number of Young Adults who wish to start a separate Young Adult RENEW group or groups.

If you are interested in joining or hosting one of these groups, or if you just want to find out more about RENEW, please call John at 731-0650.

Besides, you can always print this out as often as you like to pass along to friends, co-workers,etc.)
