CURSILLO COMMUNICATIONS

YOUR STORY?

Your story may be what someone needs to hear...

Cursillo Communications is looking for Cursillistas with great stories for
future publications of the Gazette. Beginning with the next issue Erika
Johnson, our roving reporter will conduct interviews with potential
Cursillistas regarding their personal stories on Piety, Study and Action.
Erika will then write the articles up after these interviews are conducted
and the stories will be published in future Gazettes. Please contact Paul
Greer at paul@hipstars.com if you are interested in your story being shared
within our wonderful community.

We are gathering information on our brothers and sisters from the Cursillo
Community who have passed away in 2005 or 2006. We want to honor their
memories by printing their names in future Gazettes. Please send the names
of our brothers and sisters who have gone home to the Lord to Paul Greer,
Cursillo Communications Chair at paul@hipstars.com

Please take a few minutes to pray for the following........

Note: If one of the following prayer requests is from you, and the
information can be updated, please email me at
cursillocommunications@arc -socal.com with the updates. Thanks. John Sawaya

Please pray for my father, Gilbert Marquez, who had a mild heart attack on
Monday and underwent a couple of angioplasty procedures. Pray for a quick
restoration of his health so that he may continue to do the important
detention ministry that he is so passionate about. Also to thank God for the
successful procedures and the recovery that he has made so far. He is home
as of yesterday and already sounds very good. I will see him today.  Thanks.

Please keep Mary Beth Ekhaml in your prayers as she has an ongoing condition
of moderate to severe pain, an ongoing infection problem with MRSA, and an
ongoing physical therapy condition. These medical problems will be with her
for the rest of her life, can become acute at any time, and are potentially
life threatening. We ask for continuing prayers.

Please add Mona Ohlin, a long time friend and Cursillista (1970's), to the
prayer list.  Her uterine cancer has returned and has spread. She has always
been a beautiful model of selfless giving--not only to the many students in
her classrooms over the years, but to all who were in need who ever crossed
her path.  Please pray for healing and comfort for her and her family.
Thank you.

Please add this family to your prayers.  It is a former co-worker of Steve's
who had the same kidney cancer last spring and had 1 kidney completely
removed and another 1/2 removed.  The family then relocated b/c of Eric's
job.  They just found another tumor on the remaining kidney.  They have 2
young school age children.

A good friend of ours, Shawn Lepard, has a four year old daughter who had a
nerf football sized tumor removed from her liver last week. Because it was
so big and invasive, she is now starting a full round of chemotherapy and
radiation.  The prognosis is good for  recovery, but she has a long road
ahead of her. Her name is Kristen Lepard. She is being treated at the OU
children's hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. Thanks, Ken

On Thursday, November 2, our cerebral palsy son, Brian Peter will be having
spine/neck surgery. They are removing 3/4 5/6 discs and are replacing with
bone. As I said he has Cerebral Palsy and attends St. Madeleine Sophie's
Center in El Cajon. He is such a caring young man who knows every son
(Catholic, religious, country western, rock and roll) you name it. He can't
read but his memory and his love of people is uncanny. God has given us a
sweet person and everyone at Our Lady of Perpetual Help love him. My husband
Bob and I celebrate our 30th anniversary of making Cursillo on November 15th
and our (God Willing) 49th anniversary on Jan 12, 2007. Through all of our
community to the Cursillo huge community, we ask for prayers for his
recovery. He is so special to us. God Bless you all. Fran Axelson

Hello All,

My cousin Randy's wife, Maria Aguirre has been having a severe battle with
cancer for the past couple of years, and things are worse today than ever.
The treatments she's been given for the past year haven't done much of
anything.  She's had operations and has seen several specialists with no
progress.  She's now being given about a 20% chance to live.  She's being
sent to a special hospital for cancer patients in Texas, and they may have
to amputate her legs.  Maria is in need of a miracle.

My cousin Randy is devastated as you can imagine.  He's begun praying for
the first time in his life, and just feels hopeless and abandoned.  Randy
and Maria have two girls, one is in high school, and the other is only 3 or
4 years old.

Your prayers are very much appreciated.

I have only sent this to a handful of people -- I would greatly appreciate
it if you could forward it to your list of prayer warriors.

Thank You!

Hi, everyone,
I'm trying to find someone who knows a printer who would be willing to
print pictures eg.
copies of 'masters' onto fabric so that I can continue to make beautiful
banners for the
weekends and for Cursillista gifts.  I have been told that there isn't a
copyright problem
but when I've gone to Kinko's, poster printers, T shirt makers, etc., they
all say that they
can't do it because of the copyright.  I was also wondering if maybe a
church office might
have a scanner or equipment capable of printing on fabric.  Any ideas?
Thanks.
Please email me at Dfkmr@aol.com .

Thank you for the opportunity to share with you about the power of prayer
and healing at our last Ultreya.  I truly felt the Holy Spirit in the room
as all your small groups prayed over one another.  I realize not only how
most of us do not practice this, but how necessary and fruitful it is when
we do.  Here is the information on the 2-day prayer and healing workshop
(and family tree healing) I attended.  The place is called the Christian
Healing Center at 1002 S. Coast Highway in Oceanside.  Phone (760) 966-2956.
It is held once a month during the week (Tues and Wed) but they are looking
to start weekend sessions due to the growing number of young people
interested who cannot attend week-day sessions.  They also have 2nd and 4th
Sat of month prayer ministry available from 12-3pm.  It is ecumenical
involving a few different denominations.  It is part of the ministry of St.
Anne's Episcopal Church; however, my prayer partners during the two-day were
both Catholic!  I recommend anyone with physical, emotional or spiritual
pains to this place.  I am grateful for the beautiful ministry I received
last month and am growing more aware God's healing power.  If you have any
questions, feel free to write me at erika@stbrigid-sandiego.org
God Bless!
