Sacramental Preparation For families considering participating in a sacramental preparation program, the following are the expectations:
Confirmation/First Eucharist Preparation In the early Church, the sacraments of initiation were three: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. The Second Vatican Council declared that “parents must be acknowledged as the first and foremost educators of their children.” Parents must take this statement very seriously and actively strive to participate in their children’s religious education. The sacraments of initiation mean seeing faith formation as a lifelong commitment. Celebrating these sacraments are steps in your child’s journey of faith—not the end of the journey. |

Reconciliation The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a gift of the Church that offers us God’s merciful forgiveness and the spiritual power and grace to overcome what is not good in our choices and actions. This sacrament is intended to also help us in our efforts to heal our personal spiritual wounds. It is recommended that this sacrament be received in 4th or 5th grade. This is the age when young people develop the concept of right and wrong. Preparation will be for parents and children.
