flameQuest for the Pearl

A PEARL'S beauty begins with a grain of sand in an oyster. Sand or another foreign substance gets into a curtain like material under the skin of the oyster and lodges under the shell. Because the sand rubs, the oyster repeatedly coats it with a salve that eventually hardens into an iridescent jewel taking about three and a half years.

SOMETIMES life's mundane details can grate upon us. We feel only grains of sand and wonder where the pearl has gone. We lose track of what we most value and of being valued by God and others. We lose our sense of meaning. But we cannot mislay life's meaning without feeling its loss.

THIS is God's goodness: God reshapes us. God changes and reshapes us in our search for what we have lost. This is the pearl of great price: The peace and serenity that come when we love and are loved in return.

WE make our Fragrant Anointing Oil which may be used during times of peace and serenity or when life has lost its meaning, to help us remember God's presence throughout the day and night.
