PASTORAL COUNCIL

This group consists of the pastor, nine registered parishioners elected for specific terms, and the pastoral staff members. As the main consultative body to the pastor, their role is to facilitate the Parish Mission statement through ongoing dialogue within the faith community. They meet monthly to discern parish needs and evaluate programs.

LITURGY COMMITTEE

The committee plans, prepares and coordinates our parish liturgies. Several meetings each month are motivated by the goal of "full, conscious, and active participation" of our entire parish community in every liturgy.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

There are 32 Eucharistic Ministers at O.L.P. Parish. They assist at Mass with the sharing of the Body and Blood of Christ. They bring the Eucharist to the homebound, hospital and nursing  home, so that they too are united with the Lord and the faith community, as well as being of invaluable assistance to the priest, whose time is often absorbed by pastoral concerns. Formal

training is provided for all Eucharistic Ministers.

LECTORS

The 12 Lectors at Our Lady of Poland Parish proclaim God's Word to the people. Thus, Lectors must understand the sacred scriptures and convey the meaning to all present at our Sunday and weekday liturgies. To prepare properly. Lectors study and analyze the scripture passages, pray for insight and inspiration, utilize resource books supplied by the parish and practice their delivery.

SACRAMENT PREPARATION

Baptism - Confirmation - C.C.D is under supervision of Deacon Jim Ashe
Closely tied to the Religious Education schedule, we prepare children for First Communion in Grade 2, First Reconciliation in Grade 4 and Confirmation in Grade 8. School aged children who want to be baptized or older children who want to receive Communion can join our RCIC (Rites of Christian Initiation for Children) program which runs on Sunday mornings in the Spring. Parents and god-parents are actively involved in this program. If you are interested in a shorter commitment time then maybe becoming an RCIC Catechist will interest you.
