Comforting Ministry |
|
The Comforting Ministry was organized in 1987. The purpose of |
|
this ministry is to visit our hospitalized parishioners. The |
|
parishioners appreciate seeing a familiar face from our parish |
|
community while they are in the hospital. The teams are assigned |
|
to a certain hospital in the |
|
|
|
|
|
Martha's Helpers |
|
The Martha's Helpers is a group of parishioners whose ministry |
|
is to reach out to families in the parish in times of sickness, |
|
joy, and bereavement. The group sends cards and provides meals |
|
for these families. If you feel called to this ministry, the |
|
group would welcome your participation. |
|

|
|
Parish Life Committee |
|
The Parish Life Committee gathers about four times a year |
|
The purpose of this ministry is to provide fellowship and |
|
interaction for parish families. The committee also plans social |
|
activities for the parish, including a monthly coffee hour. |
|
They welcome and encourage new members. |
|
|
|
|
|
Youth Group |
|
|
|
involved in parish activities. The Youth Group provides an |
|
opportunity for the young of our parish to pray together, have |
|
discussions on relevant topics, and come together for fellowship |
|
and fun. The group participates in diocesan activities, such as |
|
diocesan youth retreats and lock-in, movie madness nights. |
|
|
|
|
|
Social Ministry Committee |
|
The Social Ministry Committee provides opportunities for |
|
parishioners to participate in acts of charity and justice. |
|
They also educate other parishioners about social justice |
|
issues. |
|
|
|
|
|
Ladies' Auxiliary
Knights of |
|
The Ladies' Auxiliary was formed in 1933. This is a benevolent |
|
group whose purpose is to unite Catholic women socially and to |
|
offer charity to those in need. New members are always welcome. |
|
They have discussions of business, occasional guest speakers, |
|
and a social hour at the conclusion of the program. |
|
|
|
|
|
Young Adult Ministry |
|
(college age to around age 45) |
|
This ministry is designed to bring young adults together in a casual, |
|
friendly atmosphere for the purpose of building connections between |
|
Young adults in the faith community and offering spiritual, social and |
|
Service opportunities for personal and community growth. This |
|
program, which began in October 2005, usually gathers for various |
|
Events 1 to 2 times per month. |
|
|
|
|
|
Faith
& Film Ministry |
|
As of November 2005, |
|
licensed to present films once a month in the church hall |
|
for both entertainment and faith-educational purposes. Films |
|
are shown to provide a framework for discussing and reflecting |
|
on particular aspects of the Christian faith. Refreshments are |
|
always served and admission to the movie is always free. It has |
|
proven to be a popular, fun-filled, and meaningful way to present |
|
films in the hopes of exercising minds and hearts to more readily |
|
sense Christ’s presence and messages of faith, hope, and love |
|
in our everyday lives. |
|
|
|
|
|
Liturgy Commission |
|
The Liturgy Commission works with the pastoral staff to plan, |
|
organize, carry out, and evaluate community worship and |
|
Eucharistic celebration throughout the liturgical seasons. |
|
New members are always welcome. |
|
|
|
|
|
Adult Choir |
|
The Adult Choir's ministry is to enhance the liturgy through the |
|
gift of music. They sing classical and contemporary sacred music |
|
at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass from September to June. Rehearsals |
|
take place on Wednesday evenings. |
|
|
|
|
|
Youth Choir |
|
The Youth Choir is made up of youth from 3rd to 12th grades. |
|
The goal of the Youth Choir is to provide youth an opportunity |
|
to enhance their spiritual growth through the combination of |
|
fellowship, song, and worship; and to share their God-given |
|
talents with the faith community of |
|
Rehearsals for this group are held every other Wednesday. |
|
|
|
|
|
Children's Liturgy of the Word |
|
The Children's Liturgy of the Word is a program that allows |
|
children, ages five through 11, to celebrate the Liturgy of |
|
the Word at their own level. This takes place each Sunday at |
|
the 10:00 AM Mass. |
|
|
|
|
|
Babysitting |
|
Babysitting is provided for infants and young children in the |
|
lower level of the Church during the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass. |
|
Babysitters of all ages are welcome to join this ministry. |
