ST. TERESA OF AVILA PARISH
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
CCD:
St. Teresa currently provides religious education for students
Kindergarten through 10th grade on a weekly schedule during the school year.
This includes sacramental preparation for First Communion ( 2nd grade) and
Confirmation (10th grade). Each of these sacraments requires a two-year
process.
Most classes meet on Wednesday afternoon 4:00 p.m. - 5:10 p.m or 7:00 - 8:10 p.m.
and the High School classes from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Our classes meet in the
St. Teresa School, in the church and in private homes.
Sunday
School: From September through May, we offer a Sunday School
program for 2 and 3 year olds and 4, 5 and 6 year olds during the 9:30 Mass.
The children hear the Word of God on a level they can understand. Music,
puppetry and
crafts help to bring the Scripture to life. For the young children of our
parish, this
opportunity to hear the Sunday Scripture enhances what they are learning in
their CCD classes or in their classroom at St. Teresa School.
Liturgy of the Word:
From September to June, we offer Liturgy of the Word for children
aged 4 - 12 years old at both the 9:30 and 11:15 am Masses.
