ST. TERESA OF AVILA PARISH

OUR LOCATION

Our address is 3000 N. Lompa Lane, Carson City, NV  89706. 

To find us, go east on US Hwy 50, turn left at Lompa Lane (by the
Pinion Plaza) and drive one mile until you see the beautiful church on the left
side of the street.  Or go east on College Parkway, turn
right at
Lompa Lane and drive one mile until you see the church on the right.

Carson City is located in northwestern Nevada in the foothills at the base of
the east side of the Sierra Nevada .  It is the capital of Nevada. 
It is a very historic area because of mining, ranching and gambling. 
Carson City has a population of approximately 50, 000 people. 
It is about 30 south of Reno,  15 miles east of Lake Tahoe,
400 miles north of Las Vegas and 200 miles east of San Francisco, CA.

OUR PEOPLE

Our parish is comprised of about 2100 registered families which equals a parish
population of about 6300 people.  We add approximately 250 families to
our parish family every year.  We welcome all visitors to our church at any
time.  If you are visiting in Carson City you will receive a warm welcome

OUR PASTOR

Fr. Jerry Hanley is our much loved pastor.  He has served the community
of St. Teresa of Avila Church and School since 1977.  He has been our pastor
for over twenty years.  Fr. Jerry is a native of Detroit, Michigan where he grew up
with six brothers and sisters.  He became a successful steel salesman and later
heard the call to the priesthood.  Fr. Jerry was ordained in 1973 and first
served as a priest in the Diocese of Reno-Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was
transferred to St. Teresa in September of 1977. Fr. Jerry is our pastor,
counselor, guide, the builder of our new church and our beloved friend.
