OUR MOTHER OF  PERPETUAL HELP

Gradually, Redemptorists became known as men with a unique love for the Mother of God. This love was formally recognised by Pope Pius IX in 1866, when he gave the picture of Our Mother of Perpetual Help into their special keeping. "Make her known throughout the world", he said, and that is why today she is so well known in Australia, and invoked with such confidence and love.    

Today, wherever the voice of a Redemptorist is heard, this picture of God's Mother becomes known and loved.  If there is a picture in your home or Church, it possibly came there as the result of a Redemptorist Mission.

Each Wednesday, the Novena sessions are attended by more than 100,000 people. Over fifty years ago the Redemptorists began these Novena devotions.
