Fasting and Lenten Services

Abstinence from Meat: Ash Wednesday, every Friday ofLent and Good Friday the Church calls us to abstain from meat as a penitential practice to discipline our appetites.

Fasting: The Church calls us to eat less than two meals Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. That is, one meal may be a full meal, and the other two together are to be less food than one meal.

The Triduum Fast: Many people ask when Lent ends.

Technically it ends the afternoon of Holy Thursday. However, the Triduum celebration, by its very nature, calls us to continue an attitude and practice of fast and abstinence – eating much less that we would otherwise and abstaining from meat – until after the Easter Vigil on Saturday.

The Sacrament of Penance: Throughout Lent - Confessions will be available on the following schedule: Saturdays: 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Tuesdays: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesdays: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. By appointment, please call 719-924-2240

The celebration of Penance is fundamental for everyone  during Lent.

Stations of the Cross: Every Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in church.

The Easter Triduum: Plan now to attend the Triduum celebration:

Holy Thursday - Mass of the Lord’s Supper 7:00 p.m.

Good Friday - Commemoration of the Passion of Christ 7:00 p.m.

Holy Saturday - Easter Vigil 8:00 p.m.
