Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with great enthusiasm that I share with you the wonderful news that perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is being established here in Pueblo on this year’s Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 6th. Adoration of our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the Blessed Sacrament is a special honor for each and every Catholic. The enormous graces flow from perpetual adoration , because those who adore our Lord become instruments of His love and grace for everyone. Jesus Christ Himself is truly present for us in the Blessed Sacrament. So it is He, who invites us to spend time with Him in adoration. This is your “one-on-one” time with Him...available any time, day or night. Many of our parishes currently offer Eucharistic Adoration one or more days per week. This, however, is a unique opportunity for all of us to honor our Lord perpetually, every hour of every day without ceasing here in Pueblo. No single parish is large enough to support Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration on its own, therefore, we are coming together to honor our Patroness, St. Therese of the Child Jesus, by adoring our Eucharistic Lord in the Shrine of St. Therese. She had, as well, a great devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Through the participation in this most important effort, our Catholic community of Pueblo will open itself to the flood-gates of graces that adoration brings as a result of our continued fidelity and praise to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Adoration strengthens our families, brings about conversion and opens us to the many opportunities and powerful ways that the Lord is moving daily in our lives. To volunteer to spend an hour with our Lord in the Eucharist, please see one of our volunteers after Mass and complete an Adorer card, as you leave church today. I promise you that if you allow yourself to become His instrument of mercy and love, you and your families as well as our whole Catholic community will experience grace upon grace. Remember that “the family that prays together, stays together.” So come and join us in praising His goodness!
Yours in Christ,
Bishop Fernando Isern
"How kind is our sacramental Jesus! He welcomes you at any hour of the day or night. His love never knows rest. He is always most gentle towards you. When you visit him, he forgets your sins and speaks only of His joy, His tenderness, and His love, By the reception he gives to you one would think He has need of you to make Him Happy.
