High School Confirmation 2012-2013

Sr. Joan’s Room 9:20 a.m. – 10:40 a.m.

Confirmation preparation is designed to help teens discover Jesus in a very personal way through their own gifts, talents and God-given abilities, while also seeing the relationship Jesus Christ has with the Catholic Church. 

All high school students who have already been confirmed are invited to participate in Confirmation classes at no cost.

First Semester (2012)

Intro to Religious Education at Christ the King Parish

September 23^rd and 30th

Intro to class, who is Jesus to you, how do you talk with Jesus and make Him present in your life

September 30^th – Confirmation Parent Meeting at noon in Sr. Joan’s Room

 October 7^th and 14^th

The Historical Jesus

October 21^st and November 4^th

God’s Revelation, Our Response and

The Origins of the Bible

November 11^th, and 18^th

Catholicism Series Episode I “Amazed and Afraid:

The Revelation of God became Man”

December 1^st and 2^nd

Teen prayer lock-in put on by UCE for World AIDS week.

ALL TEEN SERVICE PROJECT will be in correlation with the World AIDS week prayer service.  More details as the date get closer.

Theology of the Body

February 2^nd (Saturday) All Teens Service Project

Canned food collection from 2 pm to 4:30pm (This counts for Feb 3^rd class)

February 2^nd -3^rd (Saturday and Sunday)

“30 Hour Famine” Retreat.  Begins with canned food drive on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and ends with Mass on Sunday at 10:45 a.m.

February 10^th

 Pueblo Catholic Youth Festival @ CSUP ballroom from 1pm to 4pm

This counts as a class and a 1 day retreat.

February 24^th

Jesus’ Life Reveals Mission and The Church knows Jesus by many names

March 3^rd, 10^th

Jesus helps us understand the Trinity, Mary and the Holy Spirit

March 15^th – 17^th

Confirmation Weekend Retreat (no class on the 17^th)

March 24^th

Catholicism Series Episode IV “Our tainted nature’s solitary boast; Mary, Mother of God”

April 7^th and 14^th

What Jesus tells us about ourselves and His friends and disciples

Class in the morning as usual.  BBQ from 4pm to 6pm on 14^th

MAKE UP CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED

September 27^th, October 4^th and 11^th , 2012  - Vatican II with Msgr. Tom from 7pm to 8:15pm (Thursday Evenings)

February 21^st and 28^th, as well as March 7^th, 2013 with Msgr. Tom in

Sister Joan’s Room from 6:30pm to 8pm (Thursday Evenings)
