If you require surgery or are seriously sick you may want to consider receiving the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick which has as its purpose the transmission of sacramental grace on the person experiencing the difficulties inherent with an illness or the need for immediate surgery so that they receive peace, strengthening and courage. We try to visit our elderly and sick parishioners whether in hospital or at home. We can no longer call a hospital to request the names of parishioners who are hospitalized.
