Sacrament of Marriage
Couples desiring to be married at St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church should
contact Father Joe at least one year in advance.
Sacrament of Baptism
Your baby’s baptism is a time for celebration and joy for both your family and
for your faith community. Baptisms are primarily scheduled for the last
Sunday of the month, immediately following our 10:30 Mass. Arrangements
need to be made in advance, and we do ask parents and godparents to attend a
baptism preparation class prior to their child’s baptism. To schedule your
child’s baptism, please call the parish center for an
appointment (401) 722-4470.

Anointing of the Sick
If you require surgery or are seriously sick you may want to consider receiving
the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick which has as its purpose the
transmission of sacramental grace on the person experiencing the difficulties
inherent with an illness or the need for immediate surgery so that they receive
peace, strengthening and courage. If you desire to be anointed, please call the
parish center or speak with Fr. Joe after Mass.
Holy Communion to the
Sick and Shut-ins
We try to visit our elderly and sick parishioners whether in hospital or at
home. We can no longer call a hospital to request the names of parishioners who
are hospitalized. It is your responsibility to let us know if you desire a visit
while you are hospitalized. Please call Sheila Durante, (401) 722-4470, for more
information.
Friendly Visitor
Program
Friendly visitors are volunteers/ministers who enhance the lives of our isolated
elders by visiting them each week in their homes. We have trained volunteers
ready to visit our elderly or sick parishioners in their homes. For further
information, please call Sheila Durante (401) 722-4470.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAMS/SACRAMENTAL
PREPARATION FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN
RCIA -- Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
Do you know anyone who wants to become a Catholic? Or are you or someone you
know thinking about coming into the Catholic Church or looking to complete the
Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation)? The R.C.I.A.
process is a wonderful and prayerful journey of faith during which adults learn
about and grow closer to God through the Catholic Christian experience of faith,
worship and prayer. Consider inviting someone you know to come and find out who
we are. Please call Bob Wheeler , (401) 475-3270, for more information. Meetings
begin each year in mid-October.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES FOR CHILDREN
Our religious education classes for the children of our faith community in grades 1-6 are conducted after our 9:00 a.m. family Mass in the school. During the 9:00 a.m. Mass, children are called forward and blessed before heading off to a separate room to break open the Word of God. They return to the congregation after the Prayers of the Faithful. Their religious education classes are conducted in the school at the conclusion of Mass and go until 11:15 a.m.
Religious education classes for parishioners in the seventh and eighth grades are conducted on Sunday evenings after the 5:00 p.m. Mass. For additional information, please call the parish center (722-4470).
SPRED (Special Religious Development)
This program provides the spiritual formation that children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults with developmental disabilities need to fully take part in the liturgical and sacramental life of our parish. Our SPRED center is a welcoming place with a peaceful and prayerful environment. SPRED welcomes individuals who feel called to become catechists, providing them with training and religious education materials. The program operates with small groups (six or fewer persons) of developmentally delayed persons, each of whom is assigned a helper trained as a catechist. For additional information, please call the parish center (722-4470).
GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS... (Mt. 28:19) Jesus asks all of us to go forth and spread the faith. Catechists are volunteers who share their faith with the youngsters of our faith community. If you feel God is calling you to the ministry of sharing your faith through prayer, faith stories, and our religious education curriculum, please speak with Fr. Joe. Training, resources and support are provided for all volunteers. Our catechists continually say, “there is no better way to enrich one's own faith life.”
This is what Yahweh asks of you:
only this, to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
