---About Our Parish Society
The Holy Name Society of St. Bartholomew's Church is composed of
a dedicated group of men who want to not only deepen their Faith
in the Sacramental Life of the Church, but also want to help the
members of their Parish.
These men offer their full support to our Parish Priests in the
vital activity of Christian living. They stress the importance of
religion in the Catholic family by attending weekly Mass and
attempting to live their Faith seriously at home, at work, and in
the social life.
Our Holy Name men encourage Catholic men of all ages to openly
worship God through their Monthly Mass, Holy Communion and
Prayer. The Primary objective of our Society is to attend Mass
and receive Holy Communion in a body so that the true faith and
vitality of the Catholic Church will cause them to be true
beacons of light in these times when family life and Christian
morality are being attacked.
---Social & Religious Activities
Make no mistake about it, these men also have a full social life
within the Society:
---Like most men, they will enjoy a little friendly game of cards
after their monthly meetings.
---They sponsor dances and fund-raising events throughout the
year, which are always very successful and lots of fun.
---They help out at Parish Bingo's.
---They assist at Mass as Ushers, Collectors,
Lector/Commentators, and Eucharistic Ministers.
---Every Thursday evening is Holy Name Bowling Night which has
become a long tradition within our active Parish.
---Each September our Holy Name men have their Annual Spiritual
Retreat at Immaculata Retreat House in Willimantic, Connecticut.
---They attend as a body and serve at the 9:00AM Mass each Holy
Name Sunday, the second Sunday of the month.
---As a group they attend the wake of a brother member or his
immediate family.
---And they make themselves available to assist the Pastor with
any repair work the Parish needs.
There is absolutely nothing dull about being a member of St.
Bartholomew's Holy Name Society.
