Landings: Catholics
Coming Home
|
|
In the United States today, an estimated 20 million Catholics have drifted away from the practice of their faith, finding themselves alienated, isolated and alone. Landings, a program begun by Paulist Father Jac Campbell, in 1989, is designed to help inactive Catholics find their way back home.
Landings is a safe harbor or “soft landing place” for returning Catholics to explore their future with the Church. The program gives those who may be returning to the practice of their faith an insight into the actual faith lives of a few ordinary Catholics. Not a discussion group or a class, the program is an experience of faith sharing in an atmosphere of trust and confidentiality.
St. Patrick Church is happy to announce that we host this program and welcome you to join us. For anyone longing to come home, Landings makes the process easy. We meet in members’ homes and, together, consider the meaning of Christ in our lives today.
“Each person's journey is special and sacred in the eyes of God,” says Father Campbell. “If you will trust the Holy Spirit and the process, we are confident you will grow in faith and understanding with the passing weeks and be for each other a clear sign of God's ongoing acceptance and unconditional love.”
