The
sacraments of the Catholic Church are visible signs, instituted by Christ,
to channel grace -- or divine life -- to us on earth. The Church has seven sacraments
These sacraments are Baptism, Confirmation, Penance
(Reconciliation), Holy Eucharist, Anointing of the Sick, Matrimony and
Holy Orders. (Read more
about the Sacraments.)

I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
Before
you were born, I consecrated you.

Sacrament of Baptism
At St. Patrick Church, Baptisms are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.
In order to accommodate the schedule of
prospective parents
and godparents please arrange to attend pre-Jordan Classes at least 3
months prior to your baby's due date. These classes are prerequisite for
the child's Baptism. Registration for pre-Jordan Classes may be made by
calling the Parish Office.
Godparents should be practicing Catholics who deliver a
certificate of eligibility from their pastor one week before the Baptism.
Arrangements for a Baptism need to be made at the Parish Office.
Information is not taken over the telephone.
Sacrament of Penance
(Reconciliation)
The
Sacrament of Penance, or Reconciliation, is the sacrament by which sins are
forgiven through the absolution of a priest. Confessions
at St. Pat's are held on Saturday afternoon between 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Please see the Bulletin or Web Site for
holiday schedules.
Sacrament
of Holy Eucharist
When
bread and wine are consecrated during the
Mass, they are changed into the
body and blood of Jesus Christ. The Holy Eucharist, therefore, is Christ
physically present upon the altar.
Catholics may receive Holy
Communion at Sunday or Daily Mass. If you are sick, or housebound,
and unable to come to Church, you may call the
parish office
arrange for Communion to be brought to your home.
After Mass, the
Eucharist is locked in the Tabernacle in the front of Church. In
this manner, Christ is uniquely and physically present, at all times, in all the Catholic
Churches around the world.
Sacrament
of Confirmation
The
sacramental grace of Confirmation helps us to live our faith loyally and
to profess it courageously. This sacrament is generally administered
by a bishop of the Archdiocese once each year. Ordinarily, the
Sacrament is administered to children 12 or 13 years of age.
Individuals who come into the Catholic Church as adults often receive the
Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion at the Vigil of
Easter on Holy Saturday evening.
Sacrament of Matrimony
It is a an Archdiocesan directive that couples make their
intentions to marry known to the parish priest at least six months prior
to the chosen date. Please check with the parish office to see
if your desired date/s is/are available. An application to establish the
wedding date may be obtained at the parish office or by clicking
here. The filing and acceptance of this application in the parish
office is a necessary pre-requisite to other wedding preparations.
