The
Respect Life Movement Ministry makes us keenly aware that, as Catholics,
we must do our best to fight the evil actions that take life from the
innocent and the helpless. Catholics understand the story and the
reasons for Jesus' death and His resurrection. But the Respect Life
Movement Ministry must constantly try to tell its own story and fight for
the lives of the unborn babies, the helpless, the sick and the
elderly.
Fran
Carter, the contact person for this ministry, says participation in this
ministry sometimes can be done in one's home, simply by writing letters to
elected officials and the media. It always can be done in the voting
booth, by knowing the stand of candidates on abortion and other
termination of life issues, then voting for those who support the Catholic
stand. It also can be done through the Respect Life Chain, an annual
activity in our community, which publicly shows we care.
Finally,
parishioners can travel with others from our area to participate in the
Annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., protesting Roe vs. Wade and
other laws that take life from those who cannot protect themselves.
Respect
Life Movement Ministry leaders tell us that by including the work of this
ministry and the souls it serves in our personal daily prayers, we
are helping those who cannot help themselves and are participating in this
ministry as well.

our weekly bulletin and our parish newsletter for reminders of actions in
which individuals can serve this stewardship through time and talent and
treasure. For more information, please contact Fran Carter at (610)
