This
ministry, begun in March 2001, is composed of a diverse group of six
people, whose backgrounds include business, construction, and parish
administration duties.
The
responsibility of this ministry is to serve as the basic advisory
committee to Father Sharrett regarding property acquisition and expansion
of the physical plant of St. Patrick Parish. From the time of its
inception, this ministry has been working on business related real estate
purchases, followed by the matter of zoning for the first property
purchased by St. Patrick Church.
The
Property and Development Ministry presently does not hold regularly
scheduled meetings, but rather comes together when requested by Father
Sharrett as issues arise. Even though meetings are not scheduled,
the ministry is open to comments from parishioners.
It
is inevitable that a parish such as St. Patrick, given its growth in
membership and realizing the land area where parishioners reside, has need
for a ministry of this sort in order to ensure that changes come in an
orderly manner. And so it was that the formation of this ministry
was begun and its work will be carried out as plans are formulated in the
future.
