Pastoral Council

St. Pat's Pastoral Council was established over nine years ago, as directed by the Archdiocese.

Our Pastor, Father Sharrett, is the Council Chairman.  There are a dozen other members including Father Benz.  Some of these members are appointed and others are elected in January each year for a rotating three-year term.

The purpose of our Pastoral Council is to address concerns of parishioners and to respond to them by making recommendations regarding all aspects of parish life to our Pastor, the Stewardship Committee, and other ministries.  In addition, Council serves as a think tank with the responsibility to strengthen and develop our Church community.

When the Cluster Program was inaugurated by the Archdiocese, the Council devoted meetings for a two-year period to working with other parishes within our cluster.  The objective was to meet with area parishes, discuss needs, and strive to share solutions.

Other Pastoral Council work includes such diversified projects as responding to the request for a handicapped ramp, establishing the Stewardship Program in our parish and starting the Parish picnic, as well as promoting the work of our established ministries.

The Pastoral Council meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Parish office building.  Many parishioners are not aware that they may attend these meetings.  If anyone would like to present some ideas or information to Council, they should notify the vice chairman, Bill Buffington, at (610) 388-6711; or the secretary, Marie Elliott, at (610) 444-4364, at least a day before a meeting to request inclusion on the agenda.

Express your thoughts to the Pastoral Council and share in this stewardship of time and talent to help St. Patrick Church grow through service.
